Brenda Bowyer is a producer, director and visual artist at WNIT Public Television with more than two decades of experience creating stories that invite connection. Working across regional history, art, culture and community life, she looks for the quiet, unscripted truths that might otherwise go unheard.
At the core of her storytelling is a deep reverence for the interview itself. Brenda treats the interview as a sacred space - an intimate exchange built on genuine curiosity, vulnerability and mutual trust. By creating an environment where people feel seen, she listens for the moment the prepared answer gives way to something more human - the honesty that gives a documentary its breath.
Her documentary work includes A Song for Everything: Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, Echoes of the Great Migration: Family Stories of Resilience, Vibrant Light: The Stained Glass at the University of Notre Dame, Studebaker Fountain: A Gift of Water & Light and Rafat & Zoreen Ansari: Gifted Hands.
As the founder of Kavari Creative, she specializes in intentional photography and visual design. She extends that same practice of listening and observation, exploring impermanence, resilience and the subtle marks of time. Whether working in video, photography or sound, her work is a portal - an invitation to pause and consider.
